ASUU Suspends Strike Action, Students To Resume February 8th

The academic staff Union Of Universities, ASUU has suspended the strike action which began November 4th, 2018 after the meeting with the Federal Government on Thursday February 7th, 2019. Students are expected to resume school February 8th, 2019.

This information was disclosed by the president of ASUU after the meeting with the FG.

It was gathered that the union decided to suspend the strike after reaching an agreement with the Federal Government and a deal signed . However, ASUU has warned that this is just a suspension of the strike and not an outright call-off.

According to ASUU, if government goes contrary to the memorandum of agreement, the union will not hesitate to embark on another industrial action with full force.
