The scholarship award is usually open to deserving undergraduate students of Federal and State Universities in Nigeria. The NPDC/Seplat scholarship Scheme is one of Seplat’s educational Corporate Social Responsibility programs and it is designed to promote educational development and human capacity building.
Seplat is an independent indigenous Nigerian upstream exploration and production company with a focus on Nigeria. Seplat is a leading independent oil and natural gas producer in the prolific Niger Delta area of Nigeria.
The Company’s focus is on maximizing hydrocarbon production and recovery from its existing assets, acquiring and farming into new opportunities in Nigeria (specifically those which offer production, cash flow and reserve replacement potential, with a particular focus on the onshore and shallow water offshore areas) and realizing the upside potential within its portfolio through exploration and appraisal activities.
Seplat is the operator of the three blocks, which together form one contract area, on behalf of the NPDC/Seplat Joint Venture. As the operator, Seplat is empowered with running the day-to-day operations activities and is able to set production and operational improvement goals and lead exploration and appraisal activities, subject to the approval of its partner.
Who can apply for the Scholarship?:
This NPDC scholarship is for students pursuing their undergraduate studies in any of the Public Universities in Nigeria. Only students studying any of the following courses should apply:
Accountancy, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Science, Architecture, Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Human Medicine, Journalism, Law, Mass Communication, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, and Petroleum Engineering
The scholarship is open to Nigerians to study at any university in Nigeria.

Eligibility For SEPLAT Scholarship 2019-2020:
- Firstly, Applicants must be in their second year of study or above.
- Applicants must have at least 5 O’ level credit passes (English and Mathematics inclusive) at one sitting.
- Finally, Applicants must not hold any other scholarship award
