The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed the actual date for the announcement of the 2026 minimum cut-off marks and admission modalities (e.g when admission will commence, deadline for admission etc.) which different tertiary institutions will abide to.
The cut-off marks and the admission modalities will be announced during the 2026 JAMB policy meeting which JAMB has confirmed will hold on May 11th, 2026. The meeting is expected to be chaired by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu with all heads of tertiary institutions in attendance.
The meeting which will be held at the Body of Benchers, Auditorium, located at Plot 688, Institute and Research District, FCC Phase III, Jabi, Abuja will kick-start the admission process into the nation’s tertiary institutions. It will discuss critical issues emanating from the just the just-concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry applications, in addition to setting the tone for the 2026/2027 Admission exercise. We advise candidates to start preparation for the Post-UTME screening of their various schools using the Post-UTME Screening Past Questions and Answers.
Expected attendees include key stakeholders such as Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, Provosts, Registrars, and admission officers from various institutions. Representatives of regulatory bodies like the National Universities Commission (NUC), National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), and National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) will also be present.
JAMB has also made it clear that it is an abuse of process for any institution to commence any admission exercise before the policy meeting as it is after this meeting that institutions will be given the approval to commence admission process.

Have jamb started giving admission???if yes ,I tried to check my admission status an told me NO ADMISSION GIVEN YET, should I be rest assured that I get d admission or there is something wrong,and lastly do I need to upload my o’level result before I gain admission from jamb
U don’t have too,just be patience as soon as they start selling out the post utme form , people will start seeing their admission requests in portals.
Are you talking of last year admission or this year?… If it’s this year then jamb has not been given anyone admission yet as policy meeting has not been done, post utme form is not yet out and %80 of this year candidates are yet to upload their o’level result which is very important in getting admission this year
