UNICAL Admission into Diploma Programme 2017/2018 Announced

The University of Calabar, (UNICAL) admission into Diploma programmes for the 2017/2018 academic session has been announced.

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for admission into the diploma Programmes of the Educational Consultancy, Services, University of Calabar for the 2017/2018 academic session.

Available Diploma Programmes

INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC POLICY AND ADMINISTRATION (IPPA)

DIPLOMA IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION (DPA):

Duration: Two Academic Sessions (Full-time).
Location: Institute of Public Policy & Administration (IPPA).

Admission Requirements:
For admission into this programme, candidate must possess a minimum of four (4) credits in GCE O/L, SSCE, NECO, TC II from the following subjects: Government, Economics or Commerce, C.R.K, Literature, Accounting or Mathematics with at least a Pass in English Language in not more than two sittings.

DIPLOMA IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT (DLG)

Duration: Two Academic Sessions (Full-Time)
Location: Institute of Public Policy & Administration (IPPA)

Admission Requirement:
For admission into this programme, candidate must possess a minimum of four (4) credits in GCE O/L, SSCE, NECO, TC 11 from the following subjects: Government, Economics or Commerce, C.R.K, Literature, Accounting or Mathematics with at least a Pass in English Language in not more than two sittings.

DIPLOMA IN PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT (DPM)

Duration: Two Academic Sessions (Full-Time)
Location: Institute of Public Policy & Administration (IPPA)

Admission Requirements:
For admission into this Programme, candidate must have a minimum of four (4) credits in GCE O/L, SSCE, NECO, TC II with at least a Pass in English Language in not more than two sittings.

DIPLOMA IN TOURISM AND HOTEL MANAGEMENT

Duration: Two Academic Sessions (Full-Time)
Location: Institute of Public Policy & Administration (IPPA)

Admission Requirements:
For admission into the above programme, candidate must have a minimum of four (4) credits in relevant subjects, including English Language in GCE O/L, SSCE or NECO in not more than two sittings.
Note that French is an advantage.

DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (DBA)

Duration: Two Academic Sessions
Location: Institute of Public Policy & Administration (IPPA)

Admission Requirements:
At least five (5) credit passes in relevant subjects in GCE O’L/WASC/SSCE/NECO at not more than two sittings. Subjects to include; English, Mathematics and Economics.

DIPLOMA IN LAW

Duration: Two Academic Sessions (Full Time)
Location: Institute of Public Policy & Administration (IPPA)

Admission requirement:
The minimum entry requirement for admission into Diploma in Law programme will be: Five (5) credits at maximum of two (2) sittings in GCE O’L/WASC/SSCE/NECO, including English Language and Literature.

INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION (IOE)

DIPLOMA IN ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION (DEE)

Location: Faculty of Education
Duration: Two Sessions (Full-Time)
Location: Institution of Education
Applicant must be holder of GCE O/L, WAEC/SSCE/NECO or equivalent with four (4) credits in four (4) relevant teaching subjects and at least a credit level Pass in English Language in at most two sittings

DIPLOMA IN EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY (DET)

Duration: Two Academic Sessions (Full-Time)
Location: Institution of Education

Admission Requirements:
Candidates with GCE O/L, WAEC/SSCE/NECO or equivalent with at least four(4) credits in relevant teaching subjects, including English Language and Mathematics in one sitting.

DIPLOMA IN PRE-PRIMARY AND BASIC EDUCATION (DPBE)

Duration: Two Academic Sessions (Full-Time)
Location: Institute of Education

Admission Requirements:
Candidate with GCE O’L/WAEC/SSCE/NECO or equivalent at least four (4) credits in relevant subjects including English Language and Mathematics in one sitting.
Any other qualification acceptable to the University of Calabar for a Diploma Programme admission.

DIPLOMA IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE (DLIS)

Duration: Two Academic Sessions (Full-Time)
Location: Institute of Education

Admission Requirements:
Minimum requirement for admission into Diploma in Library and Information Science Programme is four (4) O/level credits or its equivalent, including English Language and Mathematics at not more than two sittings.

DIPLOMA IN EDUCATION (DE)

Duration: Two Academic Sessions (Full-Time)
Location: Institute of Education

Admission Requirements:
Candidates must be holder of GCE O’L/WAEC/ SSCE/NECO/TCII with credits in four (4) relevant teaching subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

BASSEY ANDAH INSTITUTE FOR ASIAN AND AFRICAN STUDIES (BAIFASS)

DIPLOMA IN THEATRE AND MEDIA STUDIES (DTMS)

Duration: Two academic sessions (full-Time)
Location: Bassey Andah Institute for African and Asian Studies

Admission Requirements:
Interested candidates for Diploma in Theatre and Media Studies programme must possess a minimum of four (4) credits which must include English Language and Mathematics and any other two Arts or Social Science subjects nor more than two (2) sittings. A candidate of GCE O’L/WASC/SSCE or NECO is acceptable.

DIPLOMA IN AFRICAN AND ASIAN STUDIES

Duration: Two academic sessions (full-Time)
Location: Bassey Andah Institute for African and Asian Studies

Admission Requirements:

Interested candidates should possess a minimum of 4 credits passes in WASSE/NECO/GCE in English Language, English Literature, Economics, History/Government, Christian Religious Studies and Mathematics
Certificate in Theatre Studies, Journalism and mass Communication or related disciplines from recognized universities, provided the candidate has at least 3 credit passes including English Language, English Literature, History/Government and Mathematics at the Ordinary level.
The Teacher Grade II Certificate with at least a credit at the Merit level including English Language.

INSTITUTE OF OCEANOGRAPHY

DIPLOMA IN MARINE SCIENCE
Duration: Two academic sessions (full-Time)
Location: Faculty of Marine Sciences

Admission Requirement:
Applicants must have at least four (4) credits in relevant subjects in GCE O’L/WASC/SSCE at not more than two sittings but which must include English Language and Mathematics.

How To Apply

FIRST METHOD: ELECTRONIC PIN
Walk into any bank branch nation wide
Request to make payment for University of Calabar C.E.S Application Form 2017/2018 on E-tranzact platform
Pay the sum of 10,000 (Ten thousand naira) only and obtain payment slip containing a unique Pin.
Log in with the generated pin for the C.E.S application.

SECOND METHOD: THE PAPER SCRATCH CARD OPTION
C.E.S application scratch cards are available for those who reside in Calabar or have difficulties obtaining the e-scratch card receipt:

On obtaining the scratch card or e-scratch, candidates should log on to http://www.myunical.edu.ng and select “CES 2017 Application” from the Online Forms menu tab on the home page.

The next page will require the candidate to enter his/her phone number and e-scratch card pin or scratch card pin against the fields provided and click log in.

Follow the on-screen instruction after gaining access to complete the form.
