LASPOTECH Management Shuts Down School For One Week

The management of Lagos State Polytechnic, LASPOTECH on Tuesday shut down the polytechnic to staff and students for one week.

This was contained in a press release made by the mangement. According to the management, the decision was taken to enable the state government to conclude deliberations on Countess 15 migration issue and come up with its definite position on the issue.

It was mentioned that during this period of recess, no person including staff and students of the polytechnic will be allowed into the polytechnic. They are to stay at least 200 meters radius ways from the polytechnic campuses

The release read that “during this recess, no person will be allowed into any of the campuses of the polytechnic.Staff and students are therefore advised to stay away at least 200 meters radius to any of the polytechnic until further directives are communicated to them.

Reacting to this, the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic, Lagos State Polytechnic in a statement stated that the Rector of the polytechnic is planning to carry out rituals within the campuses and do not want such barbaric act exposed to staff and students.

Also commenting on this development, President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), Comrade Lawal Dauda described the situation as “highly unbearable” and called on the Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode to come to the rescue of the polytechnic
