As we expect the 2017 registration to commence soon, the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has continued to disclosed some of the changes it has put in place for 2017 UTME Candidates ahead of the registration.
JAMB has disclosed that candidates for the 2017 UTME will not be able to select two public universities but can select one public university and one private university if they so wish.
The information was disclosed via the board’s official twitter handle. The information stated that candidates colleges of education as 1st , 2nd and 3rd choice but cannot choose two public universities.

Justifying this development, the head of media, JAMB, Mr Benjamin stated that JAMB decided to put such rule in place since most of the candidates who chose public universities as 2nd choice are hardly admitted into such universities because such universities cannot even accommodate those that chose them as first choice.
However, this seems not to be going down well with candidates and their parents considering the exorbitant cost of schooling in private universities.
Mr. Oloyede said although he could not guarantee a hitch-free examination, the innovations being put in place “will send some illegal operators, who are defrauding candidates in the past, out of business.”
