The JAMB Mock exam which was planned to hold today April 8th, 2017 has been postponed. This was disclosed by the Registrar and Chief Executive of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Prof Ishaq Oloyede. The new date for the mock examination is Saturday April 29th, 2017.
The JAMB boss disclosed this in a text message sent to the supervisors at the various centres attributed it to unforeseen circumstances and said that a new date will be announced soon.
He expressed regret over the inconveniences this might cause the public especially the candidates. who we learnt that some of them were at the venue for the JAMB mock exam as early as 5:oo am. Some of them even said they spent up to three thousand Naira (N3000) to get to their centre only to be told it has been postponed after so much delay.
JAMB earlier state that the mock examination which is not compulsory was to enable candidates to get familiar with what JAMB CBT feels like and give JAMB the opportunity to test some of the new technologies and innovation it has put in place.
Some of the candidates who expressed disappointment over the postponement, call on JAMB to ensure that any technical issue is resolved before the main JAMB examination to avoid issues like this and the frustration that comes with it.
One of the candidates, Miss Sarah Adeniyi, who spoke to newsmen said she arrived at the centre as early as 6.30 a.m. and as at 1.30 p.m., she had not been allowed into the premises.
“I am so tired and hungry. I rushed down here thinking they would keep to time. Look at us under the sun since morning.
“I just feel like forgetting about this whole mock examination,” she said.
We believe that JAMB has learnt its lessons from what happened today and we hope that this will help them organize a better mock examination and also a better exam during the actual UTME.
