Maritime University announces resumption date

The university management, at its expanded emergency meeting held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, reviewed the state of preparedness, in line with the National Universities Commission (NUC) circulars, and after due consultation with relevant authorities, in accordance with the Federal Government’s directives, has approved that the Nigeria Maritime university Okerenko, which was closed down in March 2020, in a bid to contain the spread of COVID19 pandemic shall RE-OPEN on Sunday, October 18, 2020.

Lectures would commence on Monday, October 19th, 2020 accordingly.

Consequently, management has resolved to apply and adhere to all COVID19 protocols on all our campuses and facilities, as a special committee has been put in place to enforce strict compliance.

I am further to add that, all staff and students have been directed to come along with personal protective equipment viz : personal face masks and Hand sanitizers, for personal use.

All visitors to the university are expected to strictly comply with covid19 protocols as pre-requisite to gain access to all university campus and facilities.
