The National Examinations Councils, NECO, has released the results of the 2022 Senior School Certificate Examination, SSCE external candidates (NECO GCE). This was announced by the Registrar/Chief Executive of NECO, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, in Minna on Thursday.
It was reported that the total number of candidates that took part in the exam was 59,124 candidates. 31,316 were males representing 52.96 per cent and 27,808 were females, representing 47.03 per cent.
Out of the 58,012 candidates that were examined in English Language, 44,162, representing 76.13 per cent got Credit and above, while out of 57,700 candidates that were examined in Mathematics 43,096, representing 74.69 per cent got Credit and above.
33,914 candidates representing 57.36 per cent got five Credits and above in English Language and Mathematics while 46,825 candidates, representing 79.20% got five Credits and above irrespective of English Language and Mathematics.
Concerning examination malpractice, he stated that 11,419 candidates were booked for various forms of malpractice, as against 4,454 in 2021, which shows a sharp rise in the number of malpractice cases. Four supervisors have been blacklisted; one each from Rivers and Plateau States and two from Ogun State for aiding and abetting as well as poor supervision.
Candidates are enjoined to access their results on NECO website www.neco.gov.ng using their examination registration numbers.
