• University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) – 47,239;
• Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) – 45,920;
• Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (ABU) –  44,509;
• Bayero University Kano (BUK) – 44,352;
• Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) – 43542;
• Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) – 42, 614;
• University of Jos (UNIJOS) –  38,309.
