The Management of Akanu Ibiam federal polytechnic (AIFPU), Unwana, has announced the reopening of academic activities for the semester of the 2019/2020 academic year. According to the Polytechnic Academic board, academic activities will resume on Monday, October 19, 2020.
This is coming nearly six months after the institution was shut down following the outbreak of the pandemic in Nigeria.

Monday 19th – Academic activities resume/Revision begins
Tuesday 27th – Revision Ends
Wednesday 28th – First Semester Exams Begin
NOVEMBER 2020
Saturday 28th – First Semester Exams end
DECEMBER 2020
Tuesday 1st – Second Semester 2019/2020 begins/Students return to the residence
Wednesday 2nd – Course registration begins
Monday 7th- Course registration begins
Tuesday 8th – School Boards meet
Wednesday 9th – Academic Board meets
