Nigerian Senate Suspends The Extension Of JAMB Result Validity To 3 Years

The spokesman of the Joint Admission and Matriculation board, Dr. Fabian Benjamin has disclosed that the Nigerian Senate has  Senate has suspended moves towards amending the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Act.

He mentioned that this was disclosed by the the Chairman, Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, Aliyu Wamakko, who was represented by Senator Ajayi Boroffice during a courtesy visit to the JAMB Headquarters on Wednesday.

This implies that the much anticipated extension of the Validity of JAMB result from 1 to 3 years may not be feasible any time soon.

It was reported that the reason for the suspension on amendment of the JAMB Act is to enable adequate consultation with experts and to avoid jeopardizing the efforts and progress made by JAMB so far.

Responding to this development, the JAMB Boss, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, showed satisfaction on the decision taken by the senate and urged the House of Representatives and the Executive to follow suit.
