ABSU Gets Full Accreditation For Law, Mass Comm. and 7 Other Courses

Following the release of the released results of the October/November 2019 Accreditation of Academic Programmes in Nigerian Universities by NUC, Abia State University (ABSU) has received full accreditation in Nine (9) out of the Eleven (11) programmes accredited, while two (2) programmes were interim.

The Following Programmes Got Full Accreditation

1. Law
2. Mass Communication
3. Library and Information Science
4. Agriculture
5. Political Science
6. Surveying and Geo-informatics
7. Geography and Planning
8. Social Studies
9. Education Management and Planning

Economics and Education/Fine and Applied Arts got interim accreditation.

The Vice-Chancellor, Distinguished Professor E. Uche Ikonne while reacting to this, thanked the Governor and Visitor to the University, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu Ph.D for his Magnanimity, moral and financial support that ensured the success of this exercise.

The Vice-Chancellor also appreciates the Governing Authorities of the University, Staff and Students for their cooperation.

It will be recalled that Abia State University has never lost any academic programme since the inception of the Professor E. Uche Ikonne led University Administration with the University being ranked very highly in the comity of Universities in Nigeria. Abia State University has consistently excelled in the National Universities Commission (NUC) Accreditation exercises, with this result being one of the best in any University in Nigeria.
