How to Correct a Wrong JAMB Subject Combination

Every year, a good number of JAMB candidates usually choose the wrong subject combination for the course they are applying to study during JAMB registration.  And the thing is, you can never be admitted to study a course that you do not have the right subject combination for. This is why candidates should ensure they pick the right one for their course. The question now is how can a candidate who chose the wrong subject combination correct it?

There are two options to resolve this issue if you have already made a mistake. This post is to provide details of the two options that are available to you if you are in such situation.

Solutions To Wrong Subject Combination After JAMB Registration

OPTION 1: Change the Subject combination at a JAMB CBT Centre

JAMB has announced that candidates who selected the wrong subject combinations for the 2026 UTME registration can now make corrections.

All 2026 UTME candidates who wish to change their subject combinations to align with their intended course of study should proceed immediately to an accredited CBT centre preferably the same place you did your JAMB registration to make the necessary corrections. This option does not usually last long. So we advise candidates to make use of the opportunity as soon as possible.

OPTION 2: Change Your Course to Match the Subjects You Selected

If you miss the opportunity to use the 1st option, it means you are left with the 2nd option which is to change your course to the one that matches the subject combination that you already selected. This will be possible when the JAMB change of course and institution begins.

Before you change your course, however, go through the JAMB Brochure to ensure the course you want to change to, matches the subject combination you have already to avoid making the same mistake twice.

Some schools may change your course to the one your subject combination is suitable for during admission. But this may or may not happen. So the only way to be on the safe side is to effect the change yourself on the JAMB Portal.
